When ChatGPT and Gemini name different places

Ask ChatGPT and Gemini the same restaurant question and you may get different names. Neither answer is a ranking, and both change over time.

Why the two answers can differ

Each assistant puts its answer together in its own way, so the same question can bring back different places.

Wording matters too. A question that names a theater or a landmark can pull the answers toward places near it.

Answers also change from day to day, which is why every TableWatch check is dated.

How to read the difference

Same question, two answers. Look at the gap instead of blending them into one score.

A diner who asks the other assistant may hear a different name.

TableWatch measures ChatGPT and Gemini, not Google AI Overviews.

What the brief keeps separate

On a paid brief, ChatGPT and Gemini stay in separate scorecard columns. Each cell records named · hours · phone · who else. The two answers are not blended into one score.

Questions

Is this a ranking of restaurants?

No. This page doesn't name or rank any restaurant. A place missing from one assistant's answer on one day isn't a judgment of its quality.

Will the two lists look the same on another day?

Not necessarily. Assistant answers change.
